Vehicle fire

Fire Appliances and a Water Carrier were mobilised by Fire Control to reports of a Combine Harvester on fire within a field of crops near Newton St Petrock. Approx. 30m x 50m of straw stubble was affected by fire which had spread from a Combine Harvester. The fire was extinguished using 4 Breathing Apparatus wearers a 45mm jet, a Thermal Imaging Camera and a triple extension ladder. The fire was caused accidentally. Crews were assisted by the farmer to gain access and to extinguish the fire.
