Vehicle fire

Fire Control received multiple calls from local residents to a car that had been driven into a hedge and deliberately set on fire on Furnham Road in Chard. A crew from Chard were mobilised and were on scene within minutes. They soon had the fire under control with 2 firefighters in breathing apparatus using 1 hose reel jet to extinguish it, before a thermal imaging camera was used to check for hot spots. Once the vehicle and scene were made safe, duty of care was left with the Police.
