Vehicle fire

A fire appliance from our Middlemoor station in Exeter dealt with a camper van that caught fire on the M5 Northbound carriageway between J29 Sowton and J28 Cullompton. The small fire, located in the engine compartment, was soon extinguished using a hose reel jet and thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots. Once the vehicle and scene had been safe duty of care was left with the owner and Highways awaiting recovery.
