Vehicle fire

Multiple vehicles well alight in a breaker’s yard. Four appliances mobilised. Crews at work with water and foam jets and breathing apparatus.

Update 2.40pm
Around 10 vehicles involved among 20 in the yard in total. Local residents asked to keep windows and doors closed due to the smoke. 

Update 3.05pm 
Good progress being made, no injuries reported. Crews at work with water and foam jets, plans being made to move unaffected vehicles.

Update 3.30pm
Crews dampening down using breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet. 

Update 4pm
Thirteen scrap vehicles were destroyed by fire. Booms in place to limit water run-off. Accidental cause.
