Vehicle fire

Fire Control received a call to reports of a fire in a field near Frome.

1 fire engine from Frome and 1 from Castle Cary were sent to the location.

On arrival, crews confirmed this to be a tractor in a field, well alight.

Crews extinguished the fire using 1 hose reel jet.  The tractor sustained approx 80% fire damage and approx 15% fire damage to the attached trailer unit.  Approx 25 square meters of field were also damaged by the fire.  The cause of the fire was accidental.  Duty of care was left with the owners.
