Road traffic collision

Fire control received a call from a member of the public to a road traffic collision on Marldon Road in Paignton.

2 fire engines, 1 from Torquay and 1 from Paignton attended the incident alongside officers.

On arrival crews confirmed a 2 vehicle collision resulting in 4 casualties, 2 of which were trapped in 1 vehicle and 1 trapped in the other, crews immediately requested a third fire appliance for personnel, a second fire engine from Torquay was assigned.

Crews then got to work with Hydraulic and electrical spreading and cutting equipment, small tools and a jet to release the severely entrapped casualties and releasing them to the care of South West ambulance services.
