Two fire appliances from Bideford, one from Torrington and the Heavy Rescue Vehicle from Middlemoor, Exeter were sent to a report of a road traffic collision in the Landcross area between a car and a HGV.
On arrival, crews found the incident involved 2 cars and 1 HGV. There was a quick rescue of one occupant so that fire and ambulance crews could work on the patient immediately. The Heavy Rescue Vehicle was stood down before it arrived.
One of the vehicles and the HGV were made safe. Small tools, a hose reel jet, first aid kit and a defibrillator were used at the incident. There were 4 casualties in the hands of paramedics. Police were also on scene and fire crews were helping them with scene safety.
