Road traffic collision

Fire Control received a call from police to assist them at an incident.  2 fire engines and a Operational Assurance Officer were mobilised.

On arrival, crews confirmed this to be a 2 vehicle road traffic collision with 2 persons trapped, 1 in each vehicle.

Crews got to work rendering first aid and preparing to extricate the first casualty using hydraulic rescue cutting equipment.

Paramedics and police were both on scene and ambulance crews assessed the casualties before removing them from the vehicles.

Both casualties were released from entrapment using hydraulic rescue gear, small tools and crews also gave oxygen therapy.

Duty of care was left with police and ambulance.
