Road traffic collision

Fire control received a call from ambulance to reports of a RTC involving a lorry in Shepton Mallet.

Control mobilised 2 fire appliances from Shepton Mallet and Wells and a Heavy rescue vehicle and support pump from Glastonbury.

Once on scene, crews have confirmed one lorry has collided with a wall and crews were getting to work assessing driver trapped within vehicle and formulating a plan to extricate casualty. 

Crews confirmed 1 person has been extricated from lorry which was in collision with a wall using stabilisation equipment and heavy rescue platform. Casualty is now in the hands of ambulance paramedics.
