Road traffic collision

Three crews from Tiverton and our Danes Castle station in Exeter were mobilised to the A3072 at Bickleigh nr Tiverton following a call from Ambulance for our assistance to a one vehicle RTC, where a vehicle had overturned, trapping its occupant. 

On arrival of the first crew they confirmed that the vehicle had in fact left the carriageway, coming to rest in a hedge. However, once the vehicle was stabilised and the casualty assessed by paramedics they were assisted from the vehicle by fire crews and ambulance personnel without the need for extrication equipment. As the casualty was conveyed to hospital, crews made the vehicle and scene safe, before leaving duty of care with the Police.
