Fire Control received a call from the owner of a dog who had managed to get stuck down the side of a disused quarry.
1 fire engine from Chagford and the Specialist Rescue Appliance from Exmouth were sent to the location.
Once in attendance and crews managed to locate the dog owner, crews made an assessment and awaited the arrival of the Special Rescue before putting a plan in place to rescue the dog.
The dog, named Theo was stuck approx 30m down a vertical drop. He was rescued by level 3 rescue teams using safety at height equipment (SHACS) and a carry bag. Theo was handed over to the owner and advised to get him checked over by a vet.
