Rescue
A male who fell 6m from a flat roof into a culvert was rescued after a coordinated approach from the Fire Service, Ambulance and Police was formulated due to the casualties position and injuries. Crews from Newton Abbot and Torquay, together with our specialist rescue team from Bridgwater, and specialist officers, were mobilised following a call from the Police requesting our attendance to Market Street, Newton Abbot.
After careful consideration and ongoing casualty care from the outset, the extrication was completed at 01:43hrs. Using safe systems of work, rescue lines, ladders, a stretcher and trauma equipment he was brought up from the culvert to the ground floor whereby he was thoroughly assessed again and transferred to hospital. The incident was complete at 02:12hrs
