Property fire

Fire control received a call to report an electrical fire within a property in the Newton Ferrers area. Two fire appliances from Greenbank and 1 fire appliance from Plymstock along with an officer were mobilised.

On arrival, crews confirmed there was a fire involving and electrical consumer unit and crews were extinguishing with 2 Breathing apparatus wearers. 

Shortly after, crews on scene requested a forth appliance to attend. This proceeded from Plympton who were on their way into Plymouth to provide standby cover for part of the city. Also, the attendance of western power distribution was also requested.

In total, 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets, 2 safety jets, 3 dry powder extinguishers, 2 thermal imaging cameras, 1 gas monitor, 1 positive pressure ventilation fan and small tools were used to extinguish the fire and make the area safe. 

Western power isolated the electrics and made area safe.
