Fire control received reports of a barn on fire. On arrival the incident commander confirmed the barn contained hay that was well alight so made pumps five for personnel.

Crews began extinguishing the fire using:

  • two hose reel jets
  • two 45mm jets

This fire involves a barn measuring 50m x 25m containing hay with the fire also spreading to a silage pit. A telehandler is in use to removed unaffected hay bales from the barn.

Latest update - 

We have scaled this incident back with only one pump from Torrington now in attendance. Crews are turning over and damping down.
