Property fire

Fire control mobilised multiple crews to reports of a barn fire.

On arrival the incident commander confirmed a 5 bay barn measuring 25m by 15m containing approx 100 tonnes of hay well alight. Crews began to extinguish the fire using:

• two 45mm jets
• one compressed air foam jet

Crews removed fertiliser and machinery from the barn to ensure they didn't become involved in fire.

At 0014hrs this incident has been scaled down to one appliance with the crew performing a watching brief allowing the remaining hay to burn under supervision in a controlled manner
