Property fire

Fire control received reports of some large straw bales on fire within a barn at a property in Musbury. 

Control immediately mobilised 3 Fire Engines which came from Axminster, Colyton and Seaton, along with the Water Bowser from Bridport (Dorset) and supporting officers.

Once on scene crews confirmed multiple bales of straw on fire and got to work to extinguish them using 2 Hose Reel Jets. 

Crews continued to work to extinguish the bales that were involved in fire whilst the farmer used on site machinery to remove the bales that were unaffected to prevent the incident from escalating. 

Crews successfully managed to extinguish the fire using 3 Hose Reel Jets and 1 Covering Jet as well as utilising on site machinery to prevent the fire from spreading further. 

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
