Property fire
We are attending a large fire involving a barn, with 6 fire appliances attending, along with a water bowser and incident command unit.
Crews are fighting the fire using 6 breathing apparatus, 2 compressed air foam jets, and 1 hose reel jet. Horses and small animals have been removed from the nearby stable to a safe area. The fire involves agricultural machinery spread to hay, and a small area of asbestos sheet roofing.
Update at 2040 hrs - Crews were making efforts to remove items from adjacent barns due to the radiant heat. Breathing apparatus decreased to 2, 3 main jets and 1 hose reel jet in use.

Fire crews worked productively throughout the night and made steady progress containing fire to the hay stack, monitoring this burn and dampening down hot spots.
Crews from Holsworthy and North Tawton provided relief at approx 3am
Crew from Hartland provided relief at 7.30am.
At 13:40pm the request for the all terrain vehicle was made and crew from Okehampton was mobilised.
Crews from Witheridge and Braunton provided relief at approx 2.30pm.
At 19:44 - Crews confirmed that approx 1000 tonnes of hay, a dutch barn, a static caravan and a tractor was completely destroyed by fire. A 2 storey stable block was slightly damaged by fire. Hay was removed into safe open space to allow to burn under the supervision of the farmer.
This was believed to be accidental.
