Property fire
There is a significant fire in a building of three floors used for domestic and commercial purposes.
Fire Control received a number of calls and flames were seen coming from the roof on arrival. Neighbouring flats have been evacuated.
Ten pumping appliances, an aerial ladder platform, water bowser, command unit, support unit, ambulance HART team and police officers are at the scene. Footage from police drone being used.
Six breathing apparatus wearers, three hose reel jets and three safety jets in use.
Update 10.10am
Breathing apparatus has been discontinued, crews dampening down hotspots and salvaging items from inside the building. Working with local businesses. Stability of building to be assessed.
Update 15:42
Building surveyor carried out an assessment of the building. Fire debris is still being removed and boarding up is taking place.
Crews left the scene overnight and will revisit in the morning.
Update 9am on 8 September
One crew is using a hose reel jet and drag forks to extinguish hotspots on the top floor of the building.

The fire involved a property of three floors used as commercial and domestic premises. The fire was in the roof and third-storey flat, which were severely damaged by fire. The remainder of the building was damaged by water.
The fire was contained to the single building and is now out. Water was supplied by the aerial ladder platform used as a water tower. Everyone has been safely accounted for. The fire investigation is ongoing.
