Outdoor fire

Fire crew received a report of a fire from a member of the public who was in a hot air balloon and could see the fire from beneath.

Fire control mobilised fire appliances from Street & Glastonbury and a ariel platform ladder from Bridgwater. 

Upon arrival crews confirmed approximately 100 tonnes of scrap metal was well alight. Crews used Hose reel jets and Compressed air foam jets to extinguish the fire. 

Crews also used the ariel platform ladder to dampen down the surrounding areas. 

40 tonnes of scrap metal was damaged by fire. This was accidental.
