Hazardous materials

Crews from two Fire Engines and a Fire Service Hazardous Materials and Environmental Protection Advisor are working with Police and Wales and West Utilities following reports of a strong smell of Gas in New Bridge Street. The road has been closed, people have been evacuated from both commercial and domestic properties and a cordon has been put in place to prevent pedestrian access. Please avoid the area whilst this incident is onging.

** Update 1700 hrs. Crews and the Officer have now left the scene leaving the Gas Board who will be repairing the leak. New Bridge Street is expected to be re-opened shortly.
