Fire control received a call this morning reporting a horse stuck over a bar inside the owner's horsebox.
One fire engine, an Animal Rescue Tactical Advisor, and a Specialist Rescue appliance were mobilised to the scene. Crews reported that the horse was able to self-rescue on their arrival and that a veterinarian was in attendance. The horse was given mild sedation and fire crews liaised with the veterinarian and owner on the best way to transport the horse away safely. A second horsebox was requested and crews assisted the horse into the second horsebox. The horse was safely transported away from the scene by its owner.
