Summary
We have a fantastic opportunity available for the Station Manager – Performing Rescues Capability Manager role on a permanent basis.
You will be joining a small, dynamic team and will be responsible for setting the services performing rescues strategy with an initial focus on RTC.
Eligibility criteria
Applications are invited from existing suitably experienced and qualified Watch Managers and Station Managers. Eligible applicants will need to meet the following criteria as a minimum:
- Be a competent Watch Manager
- If applying for a promotion, or for On-Call Staff, have been successful at a Leading the Function Assessment Centre or an ADC to be eligible.
- Have good leadership skills
- Not subject to formal performance improvement actions, nor have any live disciplinary sanctions.

- An awareness of how National Operational Guidance informs and influences the change process within DSFRS and an understanding of how such change is implemented locally.
- An understanding of how to develop and implement collaborative initiatives.
- Evidence of delivering Service strategy and objectives at a local level on time and within budget.
- Possess a broad understanding of how DSFRS utilise Fire Sector good practice and new innovations to improve staff safety and develop operational tactics.
- A broad but thorough understanding of TRT and RTC capability and experience of working collaboratively with partners and stakeholders to influence change and improvement within this arena.
