Summary
We have an opportunity for an ICT Mobilising Equipment Manager to join our Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) department. The successful candidate will join us on a full time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £41511 - £44711 per annum (Grade 7).
About the role:
This position will report to the ICT Hardware Manager and will take responsibility for the ongoing management of DSFRS local mobilising equipment and systems as a subject matter expert. This role will include performance and budget reporting, planning, and the creation and maintenance of associated support processes and procedures.
The post holder will also form part of the ICT Field Service Team, undertaking installation, maintenance, support and configuration of all ICT Hardware within DSFRS as required.

Key responsibilities of the ICT Mobilising Equipment Manager:
Service Management:
- To take responsibility, on behalf of the Service Delivery Manager, for the management of on-premise mobilising equipment and systems. This will include planning, measuring and reporting on performance and implementing agreed improvements. To maintain a service risk register and formulate a continual service improvement plan (CSIP).
- To take responsibility, on behalf of the Service Delivery Manager, for the management of the Paging service. This will include planning, measuring and reporting on performance and implementing agreed improvements. To maintain a service risk register and formulate a continual service improvement plan (CSIP).
- To take a continuous improvement approach to service management.
- To maintain an effective Configuration Management Database, and related processes, to underpin all ICT Service Management activities in accordance with ITIL Best Practice.
- Produce documentation as required, including CSIP plans and the drafting and updating of Service policies and procedures.
Resource Management:
- To plan and agree resource requirements to ensure effective maintenance/support and improvement activities for the services the post holder is responsible for.
- To report individual service performance against an agreed base budget on a monthly basis. To actively manage the Service budgets and report deviations from base when identified.
- To liaise with 3rd party suppliers of ICT services ensuring measurement and adherence to agreed service level agreements (SLA's).
Technical Expertise:
- Delivering, collecting, moving, installing, decommissioning and maintaining ICT equipment throughout the Service area, ensuring the adherence, where possible, to all relevant DSFRS Service Level Agreements (SLA's).
- Subject Matter Expert in maintenance, support and installation of Mobilising systems, including Fire Station turnout equipment and paging systems.
- To achieve and maintain technical expertise enabling the installation, maintenance, support and configuration of ICT Hardware deployed within DSFRS.
Working in Partnership:
- To work closely with the Technical Service Manager responsible for Control Room systems as part of the wider Networked Fire Services Partnership.
- To work with other organisations at an operational level to identify and exploit opportunities for collaboration on Service Delivery.
