Summary
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service are looking for Trainee Fire Safety Protection Inspectors to enhance our Protection Teams across the Devon and Somerset area. Successful applicants will join us on a full time (37 hours per week) permanent basis, and in return will receive a salary of £32654.00 - £35235.00 (gross) per annum.

This role involves working as part of the Fire Safety Protection Delivery Team across the whole of Devon and Somerset. You will be working with the Responsible Persons at premises to ensure that High Risk buildings across the two counties are safe for residents, workers and visitors. Your role will be to apply the Fire Safety Order 2005 to our Risk Based Inspection Programme.

Eligibility Criteria and How to apply:
All applicants will need to meet the following criteria in order to be eligible to apply:
- Demonstrate good communication skills with people representing both internal and external stakeholders.
- Be both self-motivated and able to work independently, visiting premises on your own, and be able to manage your own workload, whilst also able to work positively as a team member.
- Desirable to have an understanding of and experience in applying legislation, compliance codes of practice, BSI Standards and technical guidance documents.
- Demonstrate a motivation to drive down the risk of fire in the built environment, protect life and support Firefighter Safety.
- Hold a full current UK driving licence at time of accepting any employment offer.
