A fire appliance from Shepton Mallet was mobilised to a car on fire at Totterdown Lane on Burford Cross, Pilton, after a local resident (looking from their property) reported seeing the fire.
The car was well alight on our arrival but soon extinguished, by 2 firefighters in breathing apparatus using a hose reel jet and compressed air foam. There was no one on scene with the vehicle, which ended up completely burnt out, so the incident was reported and handed over to the Police, where we confirmed the fire had been started deliberately.
