Vehicle fire

Fire Control received multiple reports of a vehicle on fire on the A38 heading East. Crews from Ivybridge and Crownhill were mobilised and confirmed that there was smoke and flames issuing on arrival. Crews used the following equipment to extinguish the fire:

• One hose reel jet
• Two breathing apparatus
• One thermal imaging camera
• Road cones

Crews closed the slow lane of the carriageway for safety whilst extinguishing the fire. The fire is now believed to be out. The cause is believed to be accidental.
