Vehicle fire

Fire control received multiple calls to a dumper truck on fire in Dartmouth.

Control mobilised 2 fire appliances from Dartmouth and Brixham and a water bowser from Torquay.

Once on scene crews confirmed the vehicle to be well alight and got to work extinguishing the fire using 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel jet. Crews also had to use environmental protection equipment to deal with a substantial fuel spillage from the vehicle. 

After crews extinguished the fire, crews informed highways to inspect the damage to the road surface from the fire and fuel spillage and left the scene.
