Vehicle fire

A fire appliance from one of our Plymouth stations (Greenbank) was mobilised following calls reporting a car on fire next to a house. Concerns were raised at the time of call about the proximity of the fire to the property but our crew were on scene within minutes and soon had the fire under control. The fire, which started accidentally, was brought under control using 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel jet, followed by a thermal imaging camera to check the source and for any further hotspots. This incident is now complete and once the fire was extinguished and the vehicle made safe, duty of care was left with the owner awaiting recovery.
