Road traffic collision
Fire Control received a call from Police to assist them at a road traffic collision.
Fire Crews from Exmouth and Middlemoor, Exeter were sent to the location, along with an Officer.
On arrival, crews confirmed this to be a road traffic collision where the vehicle was upside down in a ditch. One person had been released prior to the arrival of the Fire Service.
Crews requested a third fire engine to attend for extra personnel.
Fire Crews worked alongside Ambulance Paramedics and the Police to formulate a plan to extricate the person still within the vehicle.
Crews used a triple extension ladder, 2 general purpose lines, stabilisation equipment, small tools, lighting and a stretcher to remove the casualty from the vehicle.
The casualties were conveyed to hospital by Ambulance and duty of care of the scene was left with the Police.
