Property fire

Fire control received multiple calls to reports of a garage on fire.

Fire crews from Wellington, Cullompton, Wiveliscombe initially attended a fire in a garage joined to a domestic property in the Holcombe Rogus area.

On arrival crews were faced with smoke and flames issuing and requested further assistance from Tiverton fire station for additional water. The fire was in the garage which spread to the kitchen of an adjoining domestic property situated on the ground floor. The garage was fully destroyed by fire, the kitchen sustained 90% fire damage, the remainder of the ground floor of the property suffered 80% smoke damage while the 1st floor of the property sustained 10% smoke damage.

The fire was extinguished using 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets, 1 main jet, 2 safety jets, 1 compressed air foam jet and 2 thermal imaging cameras. Cause of the fire was accidental.
