Property fire

Fire control received a call from an occupant of a flat in Barnstaple stating their oven was on fire.

Control mobilised 2 fire appliances from Barnstaple with a supporting officer.

On scene crews confirmed 1 fire in oven and attempts were being made to extinguish the fire with 2 firefighters entering the property in Breathing Apparatus.

At 04:45 crews confirmed the fire within an oven had been extinguished using 2 Breathing Apparatus, 1 bucket of water and a PPV fan. The oven was 100% damaged by fir and the kitchen was 20% damaged by smoke. This fire was deemed as accidental.
