Property fire

Fire control received a call reporting smoke issuing from the window of a first floor flat. Two crews were mobilised from Torquay and Paignton and within a few seconds, a third appliance was mobilised due to reports of someone still being inside.

Crews used 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet, 1 safety jet and 1 thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. Fortunately, all persons were accounted for within a few minutes of the first appliance being in attendance.

The fire was caused by cardboard left on an electric hob and was deemed to be accidental.
