Firefighters were immediately mobilised following calls of a fire within the property to the control room.
Upon arrival the Incident Commander confirmed that smoke was issuing from the roof. Wearing breathing apparatus, Firefighters entered the property and extinguished the fire with a jet. Once the fire was out, Firefighters continued to check the roof space to make sure there was no fire spread - ensuring any hots spots identified by the thermal image camera were also fully extinguished.
Equipment used during the incident:
- Two breathing apparatus
- One Hose reel jet and one safety jet
- Two thermal image cameras
- One short extension ladder
- Small tools
The extent of the damage was recorded as 40% of the first floor damaged by fire and 5% of the ground floor damaged by smoke and water. The cause was recorded as accidental.
