Fire Control received a call for a ground floor flat fire, that was causing smoke in the hallway, which was preventing people from the flats above, from evacuating. 3 Fire Engines were sent and fire survival guidance was given to 2 occupants from the same flat, until crews arrived.
On arrival crews confirmed that there was a fire in a ground floor flat and that occupant was out safe. Crews advised other occupants of the flats to stay in their flats until the smoke had cleared.
The fire involved some wooden storage boxes and was extinguished using:
- 2 breathing apparatus
- 1 hose reel jet
- 1 fan for removal of smoke
The cause of the fire was accidental and there were no injuries or other flats affected by this fire.
