Property fire

Fire control received several 999 calls reporting a caravan on fire on a driveway. Two fire engines were initially sent, however further calls were stating that the fire was now spreading to the roof of a property. A further fire engine and aerial ladder platform was also sent.

On arrival crews confirmed this caravan was well alight and it had also spread to the garage and roof space of a bungalow. Crews requested further assistance, so another 2 fire engines were sent.

Crews extinguished the fire using:

• 9 Breathing apparatus
• 3 Hose reel jets
• 2 Main jets
• 2 Thermal image cameras

The caravan was totally destroyed by fire, along with 3 motor vehicles, a garage and the bungalow. Two people suffered smoke inhalation and were treated on scene by paramedics. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
