A call was received reporting a chimney fire and Fire Control mobilised one appliance from Cheddar Fire Station who subsequently requested a further appliance to assist for additional equipment which was mobilised from Shepton Mallet.
The fire was confirmed as being within a domestic property with multiple seats of fire in the chimney stack and behind the gas fire. The fire was extinguished from the hearth using chimney gear, a thermal imaging camera and gas monitor and from the roof using a 13.5 metre ladder, roof ladder, hose reel jet and working from height equipment. The cause of the fire was accidental.
