Property fire
Fire Control received multiple calls reporting a fire in the Station Road area of Hele.Crews from Cullompton, Middlemoor and Danes Castle was immediately mobilised.
Shortly after booking in attendance, crew confirmed that this is a single storey commercial property measuring approx 30m x 10m, fully involved in fire. Whilst crew got to work running out hose reel jets and organising a water supply, they also requested the attendance of a 5th fire appliance, this was mobilised from Tiverton alongside the Incident Command Unit from Honiton.
At 20:04 - Crews are at work with 4x main jets and using a local hydrant for water supply.
At 20:18 - A request for the Enivornmental Protection Unit was received - this was mobilised from Taunton.
At 20:52 - Fire is contained to the workshop of the property with no signs of fire spread. Crews are using 2x breathing apparatus, 2x attack jets, 1x hose reel jet, 1x aerial ladder platform, 1x light portable pump and 1x main pump for water relay.
At 21:19 - Crews are making steady progress tackling the fire in the north end of the building.
At 21:38 - Crews have requested 2x relief crews for 23:00 hours. These crews were mobilised from Clyst St George and Otter St Mary
At 23:00 - 2x fire appliance relief crews are now in situ, steady progress is being made dampening down hot spots. Crews are using 2x hose reel jets and 1x main pump as a water shuttle.
At 02:02 - Crew requested a 2x fire appliance relief crew for 03:30 hours. These crews were mobilised from Wellington and Taunton (On-Call)
At 04:06 - Crews are at work with 1x hose reel jet and 1x attack jet dampening down hot spots. Thermal image camera is also in use. Taunton's appliance is being used as a water shuttle.
At 06:32 - Crews remain on a watching brief, monitoring with a thermal image camera and occasionally dampening down.
