Property fire
Fire Control received numerous calls reporting a car on fire and mobilised one appliance from Paignton. Subsequent calls were received indicating that the fire had spread to a building and a further appliance from Paignton was mobilised along with an appliance and an aerial ladder platform from Torquay.
On arrival of the first appliance crews confirmed that smoke and flames were issuing.
Update 23:34 crews confirmed one vehicle was well alight and the fire had spread to the retail unit and surrounding fencing. Crews got to work with breathing apparatus.
Update 23:41 crews were using four breathing apparatus, small tools, one hose reel jet and one safety jet.

Final details 01:33 Fire involving vehicle spread to retail units measuring 30 metres x 10 metres and consisting of one floor. 100% fire damage to vehicle, 25% fire damage to exterior of building and 5% fire damage and 10% smoke damage to interior of building. Crews used four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one safety jet, three thermal imaging cameras, one aerial ladder platform, small tools and used water from a nearby hydrant. The cause of the fire was believed to be accidental.
