Property fire
Fire control received a call to a fire with a property in the area of Aley near Nether Stowey.
Control mobilised 3 fire appliances from Nether Stowey and Bridgwater along with a supporting officer.
Once on scene, crews confirmed that there was a fire in the kitchen and they were committing 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
Update at 19:33 - crews using 4 breathing apparatus at work extinguishing the fire within the ceiling from the kitchen and the loft space.
Update at 20:03 - breathing apparatus is no longer being used and crews are cutting away and exposing surfaces in kitchen to identify any remaining hotspots using small tools.
Final update - fire within kitchen area of property caused 50% fire damage and 100% smoke to kitchen and 90% smoke damage to the remainder of the building. In total, crews used 4 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet, 1 safety jet, 2 thermal imaging cameras, small tools and 1 triple extension ladder. A fire investigation officer attended the scene and confirmed the fire to be accidental.
