Property fire
Fire control received multiple calls to a commercial building on fire in the Littleham area of Exmouth
2 fire appliances were immediately mobilised to the incident.
As soon as the first appliance arrived, they confirmed the building to be well alight and requested a 3rd appliance. This was mobilised from Clyst St George fire station alongside a supporting officer.
Shortly after requesting the third appliance, the officer in charge requested a water bowser, this was mobilised from Danes Castle, Exeter. Due to the nature of the fire, the officer in charge then requested a 4th appliance, this also came from Danes Castle.
Crews confirmed a single storey building on fire. Crews were using 6 Breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets, 1 ground monitor, 1 main jet and 1 safety jet in use.
Final update following a revisit to scene this morning - 1 building used as a workshop measuring 15m x 8m completely destroyed by fire. Crews used 1 triple extension ladder, 6 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets, 1 water monitor, 1 gas detector, environmental pack, light portable pump,. submersible pump, small tools, thermal imaging camera and lighting. This fire was confirmed to be accidental.
