Fire Control mobilised both appliances from Newton Abbot to a report of a log burner that had caught fire in Kingsteignton.
All occupants of the property had evacuated safely prior to the arrival of the Fire Service. Crew confirmed that the building was a single storey detached property made of timber and block construction, with the log burner on fire which had spread to the external cladding and roof void. Crew got to work with 2x breathing apparatus, 1x hose reel jet, 1x safety jet to prevent escalation.
Crew made steady progress to extinguish the fire and began cutting away affected areas to check for fire spread and also used a positive pressure ventilation fan for smoke clearance.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
