Property fire

Fire Control received calls to reports of a property on fire just outside of Frome.

1 Fire engine from Frome and 1 from Warminster were mobilised.  On arrival, crews confirmed this to be a single storey building used as a static home, well alight.  The Officer In Charge requested a further 2 fire engines attend for water and breathing apparatus, these came from Frome and Trowbridge.

Western Power were requested to attend to isolate the power to the property.

This was a large static caravan, measuring approx 15m by 8m of wood and plastic construction.  The fire was extinguished using 4 breathing apparatus wearers, 2 hose reel jets, 3 main jets, 2 triple extension ladders and small tools.  The home was severely damaged by fire. 

The cause is under investigation.
