Property fire
Fire Control received multiple reports regarding smoke issuing from a building. Crews from stations around Plymouth were mobilised and on arrival confirmed smoke issuing from the building and requested a further two appliances to assist.
Crews are using the following equipment to extinguish the fire
- Four breathing apparatus
- Two hose reel jets
- One safety jet

Update 01:03am - Crews have now requested a further four appliances to assist at the incident.
Update 01:35am - Crews have confirmed this is a fire in the basement of a commercial premises measuring 20M X 50M involving freezers. There are currently six breathing apparatus, three main jets, two safety jets, three thermal imaging cameras and positive pressure ventilation fans in use.
Update at 04:05am - Crews are now returning from this incident, with one pump remaining as a watching brief. Throughout the incident the following equipment was used:
- One aerial ladder platform
- Hose reel jets
- Four main jets
- Four safety jets
- Five thermal image cameras
- Two positive pressure ventilation fans
- Small tools
The premises were 50% damaged by fire and 100% damaged by smoke and heat. The cause is believed to be accidental. These are the final details.
