Property fire
Fire control received a call from the occupant of a property in Binegar, Wells stating their Biomass burner had caught fire in an outbuilding and spread to the loft space of the outbuilding.
Control mobilised 3 fire appliances from Shepton Mallet, Wells and Glastonbury along with an officer.
Once on scene, crews confirmed 1 building was well alight and crews got to work using 2 hose reel jet and 1 main jet.
Further update - steady progress was being made using 2 hose reel jets and 1 main jet whilst the Wells and Glastonbury fire appliances were shuttling water from nearby hydrants to the incident. An on-site farmer was also assisting using farm machinery to take down parts of the building to aid with extinguishing the fire.
Final update - crews confirmed one outbuilding and its contents was fully destroyed by fire. Crews used 2 hose reel jets, 1 main jet, 1 thermal imaging camera, 1 triple extension ladder, 2 drag forks and small tools. This fire was deemed as accidental.
