Property fire
Fire Crews from Greenbank and Camelshead in Plymouth attended a property fire within a flat in Stonehouse following reports of smoke coming from the flat. When crews arrived they found smoke to be issuing from a first floor window and immediately set about making efforts to locate the fire using 4 Breathing Apparatus wearers and Thermal Imaging Cameras. Evacuation of the flats was in progress and crews located the fire in a bathroom of a first floor flat. One hose reel jet was used to extinguish the fire and a smoke curtain was used to prevent smoke spread to adjacent rooms and properties. Once the fire was extinguished crews used a positive pressure ventilation fan to rid the property of smoke. The bathroom was completely destroyed by fire and the rest of the flat was 50% damaged by smoke. The cause of the fire was believed to have been accidental.
