Property fire

1 fire engine from Tavistock and 1 from Okehampton were sent to a property to reports of a fire in an outbuilding.

On arrival, crews confirmed that smoke was issuing from the loft space area.

This was an outbuilding consisting of 1 floor containing a biomass boiler and woodchip store.  There was a small fire in the roof space involving the rafters.

Crews extinguished the fire by cutting away the ceiling to expose the rafters and insulation, using 1 hose reel jet, 1 short extension ladder, 1 roof ladder, safety at height equipment, thermal imaging camera and small tools.

The cause was accidental.
