Property fire
Fire Control received calls to reports of a fire involving a vehicle inside a garage.
1 fire engine from Middlemoor Exeter and 2 from Danes Castle Exeter, along with the aerial ladder platform from Torquay were sent to the location.
On arrival, crews confirmed this to be a vehicle within a garage, well alight. Crews got to work with 1 hose reel jet and 2 breathing apparatus wearers.
Shortly after, the breathing apparatus was increased to 4 wearers and a main jet was put to use.
This was a fire involving a car on a ramp within a commercial garage building, measuring approx 40m by 15m. Approx 10m of the roof of the building was also involved. There was approx 80% smoke damage to the building. The vehicle sustained severe fire damage. The fire was extinguished using 4 breathing apparatus wearers, 1 main jet, 1 hose reel jet, 1 compressed air foam jet (CAFS) and 2 positive pressure ventilation fans. The cause was accidental.
