Property fire

Fire control received several calls from members of the public stating a property was on fire just off Atlantic way, Westward Ho.

Upon arrival, property was found to be well alight and attending crews requested the attendance of further appliances bringing the total to six fire appliances and various support vehicles and officers.

Four breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets plus covering jets were used to extinguish the fire. The building was severely damaged by fire. Cause of fire is believed to be accidental. Two crews remain on scene and are currently damping down hotspots and making area safe.

05.30hrs - Incident now scaled down to one pumping appliance. Steady progress being made and checking for hotspots.

07:45hrs - Incident has now been complete. 75% damaged by fire and remainder damaged by heat and smoke. In total, four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one main jet, one safety jet, and small tools were used. Revisits will arranged throughout the daylight hours to ensure hot spots are cooled.

Fire investigation is now complete and the cause is undetermined at this time. Further investigations will continue in the future.
