Property fire
Fire Control received a call reporting smoke coming out of property in Taunton and immediately mobilised two fire appliances from Taunton to attend.
On arrival crews located a fire within the kitchen of a 2 storey semi detached dwelling. Due to the amount of smoke logging with the property crews donned breathing apparatus and used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and a positive pressure ventilation fan was used to rid the property of smoke.
One dog was given oxygen therapy after suffering slight smoke inhalation, and was left in the care of the owner, along with a second dog who had self rescued prior to arrival of the Fire Service.
The fire was accidentally caused by packaging being left on a cooker hob. The kitchen was 20% damaged by fire and the remainder of the property was 100% damaged by smoke.
