Property fire
Fire control received reports of a fire within a building with one female believed to be inside. One fire engine from Bridgwater station and two from Taunton were mobilised immediately. Ambulance and police were also requested by Fire to attend the incident due to the nature of this call.
On arrival crews requested a further fire engine, which was mobilised from Wellington station and an aerial ladder platform which was mobilised from Bridgwater.
Crews confirmed there was a fire within the first floor bedroom of a two storey semi-detached property and set to work with two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and one safety jet.
At 1041hrs crews confirmed breathing apparatus wearers was increased to four persons but were also able to confirm all persons were accounted for with one feamel rescued from the property now in the hands of awaiting ambulance personnel.
The one casualty is suffering from smoke inhalation and has been taken to hospital for observation.
The cause of the fire was deliberate.
